The Mightiest Of Them All
Title: The Mightiest Of Them All
Rating: PG
Characters: Chopper, Strawhats
Summary: Sometimes, it really is the thought that counts. Happy Birthday Chopper ♥.
"...happy birthday to you!"
As they finished the song Chopper took a great breath, and when he let it out managed to extinguish every single candle. When the last one finally flickered out the crew cheered, and he screamed embarrassed profanities at them as they clapped.
The cake was served, and as he ate he unconsciously craned his neck this way and that, trying to catch sight of the stack of gift-boxes he knew should be there. He finished his own slice quickly, and it might have been his imagination, but it seemed like everyone (except Luffy) was purposefully eating at an agonizingly slow rate, though he didn't dare speak up. So he waited and waited (and waited), hardly able to sit still in anticipation until it was finally time for presents.
Nami was the last to finish, and he squirmed impatiently as she daintily wiped her mouth, refolded her napkin and set her hands in her lap. Then she looked in to his eyes...and said the most horrible thing he'd ever heard. "The truth is I didn't get you a present. Too expensive, I'm sure you understand." He stared at her, and she smiled cheerfully back.
"Me neither, just never found the time," Usopp said apologetically. The others piped up with similar excuses, shrugging and showing him empty hands.
Chopper gaped at them in disbelief, and when none of them cracked a smile or stifled laughter he slumped and turned towards the door, struggling to hold back his sniffles. His steps were wobbly as he made his way across the galley, looking hopefully back once only to be met by a wall of impassive gazes. Taking a shaky breath to fortify himself, he turned back around only to find his way blocked by sandaled feet. He blinked away tears and peered up in to his captain's grinning face, and had hardly realized that the rest of the crew had formed a circle around him before a piece of paper was being shoved in to his face with an excited, "Look!" When Chopper finally focused on it he realized it was a photograph of Luffy picking his nose and looking especially vacant, while the text underneath read:
Monkey D. "Straw For Brains" Luffy
50 Belli
Before he could respond he was directed to the right by a firm hand and another poster was thrust in to his line of sight. It showed Zoro sprawled out on the deck lawn, snoring obliviously away while Luffy and Usopp played tic-tac-toe on his chest.
Roronoa Zoro the Sleeping Dumbass
50 Belli
A chain of arms unfurled down from the ceiling, wielding yet another poster. Robin looked much as she usually did in the photograph, though she was surrounded by a veritable mountain of books while Nami tried unsuccessfully to get her attention.
Nico Robin the Incurable Bookworm
50 Belli
The poster after that was Sanji's, though this time only the text had changed:
Sanji the Lovesick Moron
50 Belli
In the back of his mind Chopper registered Sanji moaning about cruel and unjust universes, but his eyes had already moved on to the next poster, one depicting Franky caterwauling through streams of tears while he strummed his ukelele. The rest of the crew could be seen cringing and covering their ears in the background.
Franky the Tin Can
50 Belli
Next was Usopp wearing a red cape, but instead of striking a heroic pose he was running away from something, a look of utter terror on his face.
Usopp the Sniper King
Great Hero
Long-Nosed Coward
50 Belli
The seventh poster showed Nami brandishing her climatact, and the expression on her face could only be described as pure rage. A bit of red cloth could be seen just at the edge of the frame.
Nami the Miserly Witch
50 Belli
Finally, the very last poster showed himself in Heavy Point form, roaring and looking quite ferocious indeed. The words underneath the photograph read:
Tony Tony Chopper the Monstrous Reindeer
666,999,700 Belli
Chopper stared at the circle of posters and the grinning faces above them, trying valiantly to rein in his emotions before he finally gave in and burst in to tears, wailing, "I HATE ALL OF YOU, DON'T THINK THIS MAKES ME HAPPY YOU ASSHOLES!" as he darted forward to hug any legs he could reach, and the others laughed and returned the favor a hundred-fold.
~end~
I probably messed up the math somewhere down the line, but the total crew bounty is still supposed to be the same. And I wish I could draw :(.

Awwwww!
Chopper is adorable. I love the crew's new titles: Robin the Incurable Bookworm, indeed. And the idea of playing tic-tac-toe on Zoro while he's sleeping still has me giggling.
