Do you think people can change, Bando-san?

Here be Nobuta wo Produce discussion, filled with much squeeing and spoilers so no peeking until you've watched the series (hint hint).



Which is only plotbunny_tiff at the moment but whatever XD.

So, favorite characters, favorite episodes, favorite moments? One of mine is in the subject line, that moment when everyone looked over and realized that Bando chose flowers and not water. The end of the episode closes the door on overt bullying of Nobuta by her classmates, but it's done very differently from the way these plotlines are usually resolved. Usually, bullies are forced to shape up after being forced in to a corner and receiving their just deserts. Here, Nobuta's words are what lead Bando to choose flowers but there's no punishment awaiting her if she chooses water, and it's entirely her own decision in the end to choose the better path, her own desire to become a better person ♥.

Episode 4 also has Shuuji's mizu-mizu-mizu-hana moment, which is awesome for how quickly but thoroughly it helps develop Shuuji's character. It at once shows us just how crippling his fear of being disliked actually is, that he really is basically decent and not playing with people just because he likes being a jerk and life is 'boring' and he's above their petty high school relationships, no matter what he might tell himself (because he lies to other people all the time, but to himself most of all), and shows us how he's already started to become a little braver because of Nobuta and Akira's influence when he just can't force himself to choose water even when his popularity is at stake ♥.

And, uh, Shuuji's my favorite character but Nobuta and Akira are also so wonderful it hurt my heart to choose between them :(.

I always want to end any thought about this series with a ♥, because I just love it so much ♥.
